Biddulph Town Council Meetings
Biddulph Town Council has 22 councillors who carry out the decision making of the council. They do this through a series of regular meetings. The council and committee meetings follow the process set out in ‘Standing Orders’ to ensure that everyone knows what is on the agenda and is able to hold an informed debate. Meetings deal with routine matters brought to councillors for their attention, and also give the opportunity for individual councillors to suggest their ideas and initiatives.
The adopted ‘Standing Orders’ and ‘Financial Regulations’ set out the responsibilities of members and officers within Biddulph Town Council. This is further supplemented by the ‘Terms of Reference for Committees and Scheme of Delegation.’

All meetings are open to the public, except for certain items where confidential matters are discussed. We welcome members of the public attending meetings of the council and its committees.
There is a 20 minute section for public participation at the start of the Town Council meeting, with five minutes allocated to each speaker.
Please notify the Chief Officer (in writing) of your intention to speak by the pre-ceding Wednesday, to allow questions to be circulated with the agendas.
Committee Structure
In February 2019, the Town Council approved a new Committee Structure, which was implemented in May 2019, here’s a link to : Committee Structure.
Agendas
The agenda for each meeting is published in advance – displayed as a notice at the Town Hall. A link to the agenda is posted on this page. Most meetings are held on Tuesday evenings.
Minutes
Draft minutes of meetings are published here once the meeting has been held. The minutes of each council or committee meeting are approved (considered final) at the next scheduled meeting of the Council or relevant committee, at which time they are signed by the relevant Chair.
