‘The Hideaway’ Cafe

Biddulph Grange Country Park was purchased by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) in 1988.

The management of the Visitor Centre at the Country Park was taken over by Biddulph Town Council in August 2020 and the building refurbished to provide a base for a local business.

‘The Hideaway’ café opened on the 28th August 2021. Hot and cold drinks are available, together with sandwiches, toasties, cakes and Snugbury’s ice cream.

The cafe is dog friendly.

Fishing day tickets are available, costing £7.

Where’s Wallaby

We were delighted to have the Biddulph Wallaby at the Country Park, next to the Visitor Centre.

From the 18 July to the 5 September 2025 we were part of the ‘Where’s Wallaby Trail’, which took place across the Staffordshire Moorlands, to celebrate Peak Wildlife Parks 10th anniversary.

It was organised by OUTSIDE and Peak Wildlife Park, and funded by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council through the Government UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Brew Crew

The Hideaway joined the ‘Brew Crew’ in October 2025.

This means the Hideaway is a welcoming space in our community where adults experiencing loneliness can pop in, buy a brew, feel at ease, and connect – especially if they’re wearing an orange heart pin. The pin tells the cafe team that you’re part of Brew Crew and they’ll offer you an extra warm welcome.

You can buy a pin, costing £2, from the Reaching CIC website (https://reaching.org.uk) or from The Hideaway.

Brew Crew is all about creating friendly spaces for adults who might otherwise stay home alone. A simple pin, a brew, a simple chat – but a big difference.
