Welcome to this years Biddulph Festival. Starting on the 13th June as a soft launch we will embark on a variety of arts inspired, community and charity events continue to the end of July.
The new committee Chaired by Jacky Nevill is now in its second year and they have certainly found their stride!
The official ceremony and launch of the Festival will be the parade on Saturday the 29th June. Samba Dancers, Stilt Walkers, Biddulph Youth Zone, Knypersley First, Our Lady of Grace, Biddulph Brownies, Biddulph Diving Club, Biddulph Moor First School, Biddulph In Bloom, Woodhouse Academy, Oxhey First School, Kingsfield First School and Tribe Dance Academy will shake their way down the High Street to start us off in style!
Keeping the other firm town favorite Saturday 20th July will see the return of Biddulph By The Sea. It is great to see the High Street transformed with the sand and fairground rides and lovely to see families enjoying themselves. Hopefully the sun will shine!
The Churches Together Café on the Steps will start on Saturday 6th July and it is a great way to kick off a Saturday drinking tea and eating cake.
Biddulph Up In Arms have some amazing live music acts coming including the frist live filming of Biddulph Town Hall on Wednesday 3rd July with Hannah Aldridge and Chance McCoy.
This is Room 8 a comedy play will be on at the Town Hall on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th a great show about a B&B and the guests that stop there.
If you want to learn more about your town then we strongly advise you to pop along to one of the 4 Biddulph Ramblers Walks a great way to spend a summer evening. Suitable for families but not pushchairs.
Joining us for the first time this year Biddulph Library will be hosting a couple of events including a Book Chat (Adults) and Space Carnival (Children)
The Classic Car Show takes place on Saturday 13th July at St Lawrence’s.
For the younger people in the town there is a Glow in the Dark Disco at the Town Hall on Friday 12th July and on Sunday 14th July Biddulph Town Hall will host the “This Is Me!” talent show. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust are hosting a programme of Wild Families events based down at the Country Park.
Finally there will be two cinema showings on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st July. Tuesdays screening will be a family friendly showing of Mary Poppins Returns. Families can bring their own drinks and snacks and enjoy the film for £1.50. Wednesday will be a Dementia Friendly showing of The Greatest Showman. This will have an intermission with tea and cake and is FREE but a donation towards refreshments is welcome but not necessary.
