We have two bits of exciting news!
Biddulph Town Council has been recognised as an exemplar for best practice having achieved the Quality Gold Award in the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Local Council Award Scheme. This shows that Biddulph Town Council is at the forefront of best practice and achieves excellence in governance, community leadership and performance management, while constantly seeking opportunities to improve at the cutting edge of their sector.
We are the smallest Council in your town. We don’t deal with roads, schools, benefits or housing, but we do work hard to ensure that the community of Biddulph has access to quality services, events and support. We are delighted that this has been recognised by an external group of Councillors, Clerks and independent co-ordinators.
Also, the Council’s Chief Officer, Sarah Haydon, has been selected as one of five finalists for NALC’s Clerk of the Year Award. There are 10,000 local (parish and town) councils in England, meaning it is an incredible honour to be recognised in this way. The winner will be announced at an online ceremony later this year.
