Biddulph people have been deeply moved by the events in the Ukraine.
We’re delighted Biddulph Town Council are working with Bierun Town Council in Poland to help the many Ukrainian refugees they have there by collecting and transporting goods that are urgently needed.
Please drop your donations into Biddulph Town Hall, if the Reception area is not open, please phone 01782 498480 for access.
Urgently needed:
- hygiene articles (sanitary towels, tampons)
- cleaning products (liquid soaps, toothpastes, shampoos)
- wet wipes
- towels (paper and cotton)
- warm blankets, sheets, pillows, bedding
- women’s and children’s underwear (new pants, socks, t-shirts)
- first aid kits – bandages, dressings, strong self-adhesive plasters, wound disinfectants, painkillers
- torches, batteries, candles and matches
- small toys and crayons

If you want to donate money, there are a number of charities providing humanitarian relief in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, such as the DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, who are working to provide the people fleeing the conflict with immediate food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
You can donate to the DEC at the Post Office – where cash, cheque and card donations are being taken over the counter.
There may be more opportunities to donate via local schools churches and businesses.
