On Thursday 4 May 2023 Biddulph residents, who are registered to vote, will be asked to choose who they would like to represent them on Biddulph Town Council from May 2023 to May 2027.
To be able to vote on Thursday 4 May you must be registered. The date to register to vote (on 4 May) was Monday 17 April.
Voter ID
The Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station. This new requirement will apply for the first time in England at the local elections on 4 May 2023.
Here’s a link to Voter ID information on the The Electoral Commission’s website: Voter ID | Electoral Commission
How to Vote in Person
A poll card for each member of your household, who is registered to vote, will be delivered before the election. The poll card will tell you the date of the election, where your polling station is and the hours it will be open. You do not need to take your poll card with you to be able to vote. However, you will need to show photo ID to vote.
Anyone who does not have one of the accepted forms of ID is able to apply for free ID online (apply via gov.uk) or by completing a paper form (you can download a paper application form or collect one from Biddulph Town Hall). You’ll need to provide your name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and a photo.
The last date to apply for Voter Authority Certificates to use as ID when voting on the 4 May 2023 is 5pm on Tuesday 25 April (ie 6 working days before the election you want to vote in).
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will process your application and send your Voter Authority Certificate to you by post.
